If you have full control of your faculties, everyday life is pretty easy. Everything from running errands to getting dressed in the morning can be accomplished without much effort, thought or preparation. However, if you are a person living with one or more disabilities, even the simplest tasks can range from a nuisance to daunting.
In 1990, the federal government passed the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibited discrimination based on disability. The act also required that employers provide reasonable accommodations and imposed accessibility requirements.
